WINE LIST
OLD WORLD WINES ~ FRANCE BURGUNDY More than any other regions in France, Burgundy — Bourgogne in French — has distilled the wisdom and experience of its history into winegrowing. The vineyards are cultivated by people who understand every nuance of the soil. Burgundian wines are celebrated for their elegance and subtlety. Just three grape varietals are cultivated: Chardonnay accounts for virtually all of the whites, Pinot Noir is the red grape to be found in most vineyards, and the red Gamay thrives in Beaujolais.Burgundy - White Burgundy White = New World Chardonnay W051 Desvignes ~ Chablis France 2008 ~ 30 W052 Joseph Faiveley ~ Chablis France 2008 ~ 47 W053 Bouchard Père & Fils ~ Bourgogne Récserve France 2009 ~ 40 W054 JJ. The vast majority of Bordeaux wines are red ~ 85%-90% ~ made from a blend of three principal grape varietals: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. As a very broad generalization, Cabernet Sauvignon dominates the blend in red wines produced in the Médoc and the rest of the left bank of the Gironde estuary. Merlot and to a lesser extent Cabernet Franc tend to dominate in St.Emilion, Pomerol and the other right bank appellations. White Bordeaux are predominantly made from a blend of Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc and occasionally Muscadelle.Bordeaux - White Bordeaux White = New World Sauvignon Blanc + Sémillon W059 Château Villa Bel-Air ~ Graves France 2009 ~ 44 WS'89 W086 La Fleur du Roi ~ Bordeaux Blanc France 2010 ~ 26 W250 Château Les Justices ~ Sauternes ~ 375ml France 2007 ~ 50 W087 Château Nicot ~ Entre-Deux-Mers France 2010 ~ 25 Bordeaux Left Bank - Red Bordeaux Left Bank = New World Cabernet + Merlot + Cabernet Franc R022 Château Malmaison ~ Médoc Baronne de Rothschild France 2006 ~ 44 R041 Château Larose Trintaudon ~ Haut Médoc France 2006 ~ 40 R016 Château du Retout ~ Haut-Médoc France 2009 ~ 38 WS'91 R019 Château Meyney ~ Saint-Estèphe France 2008 ~ 64 R020 Château Phélan Ségur ~ Saint-Estèphe Frank Phélan France 2005 ~ 67 R013 Château Phélan Ségur ~ Saint-Estèphe France 2009 ~ 98 WS'92 R018 Château Pichon Les Gartieux ~ Pauillac France 2004 ~ 58 R014 Château Pibran ~ Pauillac France 2009 ~ 90 WS'92 R015 Château Gruaud Larose ~ St-Julien Sarget de Gruaud Larose France 2009 ~ 58 WS'89 R253 Château Lalande-Borie ~ St-Julien ~ 375ml France 2007 ~ 25 R038 Château Gloria ~ St.-Julien France 2006 ~ 92 WS'90 R043 Chevalier de Rauzan-Gassies ~ Margaux France 2005 ~ 60 R021 Château Labégorce ~ Margaux France 2000 ~ 65 WS'88 R039 Château Larrivet Haut-Brion ~ Pessac-Léognan France 2006 ~ 43 U009 Château Larrivet Haut-Brion ~ Pessac-Léognan France 2001 ~ 68 WS'88 R040 Château Carbonnieux ~ Pessac-Léognan France 2009 ~ 81 WS'91 Bordeaux Right Bank - Red Bordeaux Right Bank = New World Merlot + Cabernet + Cabernet Franc R017 Château Les Grands Maréchaux ~ Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux France 2009 ~ 36 WS'88 R044 Château La Vieille Cure ~ Fronsac France 2004 ~ 52 RP'90 R042 Château Haut-Piquat ~ Lussac St-Émilion France 2005 ~ 32 R034 Château Lyonnat ~ Lussac St-Émilion Emotion France 2009 ~ 60 WS'91 R036 Château Boutisse ~ St-Émilion France 2008 ~ 49 WS'91 U008 Château Beau-Séjour Bécot ~ St-Émilion Premier Cru Classé France 2004 ~ 82 WS'92 R037 Château La Tour Figeac ~ St-Émilion Premier Cru Classé France 2006 ~ 85 RP'90 R035 Château La Couronne ~ St-Émilion Premier Cru France 2009 ~ 38 WS'89 R033 Château Féret-Lambert ~ Bordeaux Supérieur France 2009 ~ 33 WS'90 THE RHÔNE VALLEY The Rhône Valley is a region of extreme contrasts. The North is cool, discrete, noble, and expressed in different shades of just one grape varietal — the Syrah. The South by contrast is warm, exuberant, heartily earthy, with a myriad of grape varietals – including Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre.Rhône - White W061 Chapoutier ~ Crozes-Hermitage Petite Ruche France 2010 ~ 49 WS'91 W062 Chante Cigale ~ Châteauneuf du Pape White France 2010 ~ 63 WS'90 Rhône - Red R23A Tardieu-Laurent ~ Saint-Joseph Vielles Vignes France 2007 ~ 79 WS'91 R007 Paul Jaboulet Aîné ~ Crozes-Hermitage Les Jalets France 2007 ~ 46 R23B Paul Jaboulet Aîné ~ Crozes-Hermitage Domaine de Thalabert France 2007 ~ 51 WS'89 R027 Perrin Réserve ~ Côtes du Rhône Villages France 2010 ~ 28 R024 Stéphane Robert ~ Cornas Domaine du Tunnel France 2009 ~ 90 RP'93 R005 E. The Languedoc-Roussillon appellations now produce some of France's most exciting wines – blends that are rich and full of character with the distinctive imprint of the region. The vin de pays classification – referred to as Vin de Pays d'Oc - has allowed stringent appellation rules to be stretched enabling nonlocal varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay to be planted. As a result, the region produces good value single varietal wines. Provence's lifestyle, food and climate have made rosé the principal wine of the region. Serious reds, made essentially from Mourvèdre, are found in Bandol.Languedoc-Rousillon & Provence - White & Rosé W063 Mas de Daumac Gassac ~ Vin de Pays de l'Hérault Pont de Gassac France 2008 ~ 29 WS'87 W064 Domaine Guillaume Cabrol ~ Picpoul de Pinet Languedoc France 2010 ~ 25 W134 La Forge Estate ~ Vin de Pays d'Oc Chardonnay France 2010 ~ 25 W135 La Forge Estate ~ Vin de Pays d'Oc Sauvignon Blanc France 2010 ~ 25 W065 Les Vigne. de la Méditerranée ~ Corbières Rosé Les Deux Rives France 2010 ~ 26 WS'88 W091 Paul Jaboulet-Aîné ~ Vin de Pays de Méditerranée Viognier France 2009 ~ 51 W092 Mas de Cadenet ~ Côtes de Provence Rosé Sainte Victoire France 2011 ~ 32 W093 Château du Rouët ~ Côtes de Provence Rosé Cuvée Réservée France 2010 ~ 25 Languedoc-Rousillon & Provence - Red R136 La Forge Estate ~ Cabernet de Sauvignon Vin de Pays d'Oc France 2010 ~ 25 R137 La Forge Estate ~ Pinot Noir Vin de Pays d'Oc France 2010 ~ 25 R138 La Forge Estate ~ Merlot Vin de Pays d'Oc France 2010 ~ 25 R074 Hecht & Bannier ~ Côtes du Roussillon Villagesc France 2009 ~ 43 R075 Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) ~ Corbières Château d'Aussières France 2006 ~ 42 R077 Hecht & Bannier ~ Minervois France 2008 ~ 40 WS'87 R078 Michel Gassier ~ Costières de Nîmes Nostre Païs France 2009 ~ 34 R076 Domaine de la Tour du Bon ~ Bandol France 2008 ~ 49 THE LOIRE VALLEY The northern climate of the Loire places the emphasis on delicacy and flavor, rather than power and fruit driven concentration. White wines are in the majority, made principally from Chenin Blanc – also known as Pineau de la Loire locally – in Anjou-Saumur and Touraine, Melon de Bourgogne in the Pays Nantais, and Sauvignon Blanc in the Central Loire and Touraine. Cabernet Franc is the red grape of the region grown mainly in Touraine and Anjou Saumur.Loire - White W066 Marc Olivier ~ Muscadet Sèvre et Maine Domaine De la Pépière France 2010 ~ 29 W067 Domaine du Closel ~ Savennières La Jalousie France 2010 ~ 42 W068 François Pinon ~ Vouvray Silex Noir France 2009 ~ 42 W094 Henri Bourgeois ~ Sancerre La Porte du Caillou France 2010 ~ 40 W095 HPascal Jolivet ~ Pouilly-Fumé France 2010 ~ 47 Loire - Reds R002 Clos Cristal ~ Saumur-Champigny Hospices de Saumur France 2009 ~ 39 R001 Franck & Jean-François Bailly ~ Sancerre Chavignol France 2009 ~ 52 CHAMPAGNE The traditional method ~ méthode traditionnelle in French ~ is the most quality focused way of producing sparkling wine. This costly and labor intensive technique was pioneered in the region of Champagne and developed over many centuries. Now used all over the world, it is responsible for virtually all the finest bottles of fizz today. "Champagne" applies exclusively to sparkling wine produced in the Champagne region, but the term "traditional method" indicates that wines from outside the region have been produced with the same process and meticulous attention to quality.S305 Pommery ~ Brut Champagne Rosé ~ 187ml France NV ~ 24 WS'86 S304 Taittinger ~ Brut Champagne La Française ~ 375ml France NV ~ 46 WS'89 S310 Perrier-Jouët ~ Brut Champagne Grand Brut ~ 375ml France NV ~ 53 WS'89 S311 Veuve Clicquot ~ Brut Champagne Gold Label ~ 375ml France NV ~ 39 WS'89 S306 Moët & Chandon ~ Brut Champagne Impérial France NV ~ 90 OTHER REGIONS OF FRANCE White WinesW069 Domaine de Pouy ~ Ugni Blanc Vin de Pays des Côtes de Gascogne France 2010 ~ 26 W070 André & Michel Quénard ~ Chignin Vin de Savoie France 2009 ~ 35 WS'86 W071 Hugel ~ Alsace Gentil France 2010 ~ 26 WS'87 W097 Hugel ~ Alsace Pinot Blanc Cuvée Les Amours France 2007 ~ 32 WS'87 W098 Hugel ~ Riesling Alsace France 2009 ~ 42 WS'87 W099 Hugel ~ Alsace Gewürztraminer Vendange Tardive France 2000 ~ 100 WS'93 OLD WORLD WINES ~ GERMANY/AUSTRIA Rieslings & Gewürztraminer W200 Leitz ~ Riesling QbA Rheingau Dragonstone Germany 2010 ~ 37 W201 Strub ~ Riesling Kabinett Rheinhessen Soil to Soul Germany 2010 ~ 31 W202 Dr. Deinhard ~ Riesling Kabinett Halbtrocken Pfalz Deidesheim Germany 2009 ~ 35 W203H Selbach-Oster ~ Mosel Riesling Kabinett ~ 375ml Germany 2008 ~ 24 WS'89 W203 Selbach-Oster ~ Mosel Riesling Kabinett Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Germany 2010 ~ 50 RP'92 W204 Dr. Loosen ~ Riesling Kabinett Mosel Erdener Treppchen Germany 2007 ~ 46 W205 Alfred Merkelbach ~ Mosel Ürziger Riesling Spätlese Germany 2009 ~ 38 W206 Schlossgut Diel ~ Riesling Kabinett Nahe Germany 2009 ~ 48 WS'88 W207 Eugen Müller ~ Gewürztraminer Spätlese Germany 2009 ~ 40 W208 Schloss Gobelsburg ~ Steinsetz Grüner Veltliner Austria 2009 ~ 48 NEW WORLD WINES ~ BY VARIETALS Chardonnay New World Chardonnay = Burgundy White W101 Buehler ~ Chardonnay Russian River Valley California 2009 ~ 32 W102 Sonoma Cutrer ~ Chardonnay Russian River Ranches California 2010 ~ 37 W103 Simi ~ Chardonnay Sonoma County California 2009 ~ 45 W104 Gary Farrell ~ Chardonnay Russian River Valley California 2007 ~ 67 W105 The Hess Collection ~ Chardonnay Napa Valley Su'skol Vineyard California 2009 ~ 39 W106 Chappellet ~ Chardonnay Napa Valley California 2008 ~ 61 W107 Talbott ~ Chardonnay Monterey County Logan California 2010 ~ 42 W108 Foley ~ Chardonnay Santa Rita Hills California 2007 ~ 50 Sauvignon Blanc New World Sauvignon Blanc + Sémillon = Bordeaux White W110 Château St-Jean ~ Fumé Blanc Sonoma County California 2009 ~ 30 W112 Kim Crawford ~ Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough N.Zealand 2009 ~ 40 WS'89 W113 Rain ~ Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough N.Zealand 2010 ~ 32 Blends & Other Varietals – White & Rosé New World Sauvignon Blanc + Sémillon = Bordeaux White W118 Sokol Blosser ~ Evolution 14th Edition Oregon NV ~ 37 W119 Conundrum ~ Proprietary Blend California 2010 ~ 46 W120 Yalumba ~ Viognier Eden Valley Australia 2009 ~ 36 WS'88 W121 Benton-Lane ~ Pinot Gris Willamette Valley Oregon 2009 ~ 32 WS'89 W122 Bonny Doon ~ Vin Gris de Cigare Central Coast Rosé California 2010 ~ 31 WS'88 W123 Amezetoi ~ Getariako Txakolina Rosé Spain 2010 ~ 40 WS'90 Pinot Noir New World Pinot Noir = Burgundy Red R210 Paul Hobbs ~ Pinot Noir Anderson Valley Cross Barn California 2009 ~ 69 WS'88 U016 Kosta Browne ~ Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast California 2006 ~ 120 WS'87 U100 Kosta Browne ~ Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast ~ Kanzler Vineyard California 2009 ~ 190WS'95 R211 Chloe Creek ~ Pinot Noir Sonoma California 2008 ~ 69 U017 Martinellih ~ Pinot Noir Russian River Valley Moonshine Ranc California 2004 ~ 120WS'88 R212 Paraiso ~ Pinot Noir Santa Lucia Highlands California 2009 ~ 42WS'87 R213 Siduri ~ Pinot Noir Santa Lucia Highlands California 2009 ~ 61WS'92 U011 Melville ~ Pinot Noir Santa Rita Hills Terraces Estate Small Lot California 2005 ~ 85WS'90 R214 Au Bon Climat ~ Pinot Noir Santa Barbara County California 2009 ~ 41 R215 Ken Wright Cellars ~ Pinot Noir Shea Vineyard Oregon 2010 ~ 95 R045 Evening Land ~ Pinot Noir Eola-Amity Hills Oregon 2009 ~ 50WS'91 R046 Argyle ~ Pinot Noir Willametette Valley Oregon 2009 ~ 51WS'89 R047 A to Z Wineworks ~ Pinot Noir Oregon 2010 ~ 40 R048 Mud House ~ Pinot Noir Central Otago N.Zealand 2010 ~ 36 Cabernet Sauvignon New World Cabernet + Merlot + Cabernet Franc = Bordeaux Red Left Bank R401 J.
